It is vacation time. The streets of Reykjavík are crowded with people who came by planes, by one of the cruiser ships, or with their own cars which were carried by ferries to Seyðisfjorður. Across the whole country you can find the campers, bikers and hikers who are on their way to discover the raw and wild nature of Iceland. But besides the fantastic landscape there are specific art projects to explore which dot the country. One very impressive sound installation by the artist Finnbogi Pétursson recently opened in the area of Mount Hekla two weeks ago together with a piece by the Icelandic Love Corporation.
On this occasion we will focus on topic of “art in public space” or better “art in nature” in this issue of LIST. An interview with Finnbogi Pétursson, who was introduced in the last issue
Although even most of the Icelanders are on holiday the jury of the CIA.IS - Center for Icelandic Art has decided upon its first grant program. With this program the CIA.IS supports qualitative artists in their efforts to succeed in the international art world.
LIST is published by CIA.IS – Center for Icelandic Art.
